Higher education today faces constant changes and challenges by the continual shift in science and technology. Financial pressures, quality assurance requirements, and diversification for higher education are increasing, and fierce competition is in of each country’s market as well as in Asia and all over the world. It leads to an increasing need for international integration.
In such a context, higher education institutions in Vietnam face many constraints that can enhance their competitiveness for development, readiness for new challenges, and international integration to bring international quality to students. Specifically, these issues are an investment in resources, facilities, and technology to support training, research, quality, and efficiency, improve the capacity of lecturers to enhance the quality of training, etc. The higher education institutions try to improve the ability of international integration in training and research to develop the working capacity of students in the global environment, as well as to promote the recognition of qualifications, increase the value of higher education offerings, and enhance the value of capabilities of training institutions in the international arena.
Accordingly, The Institute for Research on Training and Human Resource Development, under the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges, organized a virtual training seminar on the accreditation of study programs according to the quality requirements of FIBAA, 20-21 March, 2023. An exchange about the benefits of accreditation and quality requirements according to internationally recognized standards (such as FIBAA) which enhance the international integration capacity in training and research of each higher education institution will take place.
The overall objective of the seminar is to exchange and share information on quality assurance and quality enhancement according to FIBAA quality requirements, which show a framework to address the challenges that higher education institutions face in implementing a quality assurance system according to internationally recognized standards.
The seminar creates a forum to exchange and support the plan to develop the internal quality assurance system of the higher education institutions according to international standards effectively and sustainably. At the same time, at this seminar, participants get information on FIBAA’s procedural steps during a programme accreditation procedure.
The seminar aims to receive the attention of many scholars, lecturers, and managers about training quality assurance at higher education institutions and, by posing quality assurance and quality verification according to international standards, identifying challenges that must be solved. FIBAA experts will directly share, discuss, and propose solutions to complex problems and challenges in implementing of quality assurance and quality inspection according to international quality standards in general and the quality standards of FIBAA in particular.
In addition, the seminar also wants to create a research network among lecturers, researchers, quality assurance staff, and scholars to exchange and cooperate in research on quality assurance issues.
The seminar results will be shared with participants and stakeholders to further contribute to improving the quality of training and research in higher education.
